Police rewarded their human talent and presented technological innovations to strengthen citizen security
The National Police recognized the work of its officials in the “Night of Excellence and Police Innovation”, held on Tuesday, March 6, at 7:00 pm, at the National Sucre Theater in Quit. In this event, the technological tools to strengthen security were presented, as well as the outstanding work of the uniformed people, for the benefit of the community.
The General Commander of the Institution, General Inspector Ramiro Mantilla, exhorted the affectionate greeting to all the police servers connected through the videoconference system and to the citizens in the world linked way Facebook Live. “Tonight we want to share the dream of the National Police, of how we want to be until the year 2021”, he said.
He referred to the creation of the Strategic Plan called Trust and Transparency. Which is linked to the Institutional vision to make it the most reliable and transparent in the country, being a benchmark in citizen security throughout the region. “This plan was built in a different way, it was an inclusive plan, since the Command participated, in addition the Planning Directorate made work tables in the territories so that all the police, the community and the community participated academy to know the vision of the police they want, he said.
The high official mentioned that through this plan several lines have been drawn up to delineate a national project of Public Safety and Public Order, which has been applied and has allowed to continue reducing the homicide rate. “All these delimitations and also the objectives aim to improve the security of all Ecuadorian citizens and foreigners residing in our country,” he said.
The Strategic Plan is made up of three fundamental axes: fulfilling the constitutional mission, seeking the welfare of the police and his family. “This aspect is very important that we consider that if we have an emotionally stable police, we will have a good policeman in the neighborhoods, in the streets, providing a quality service to our fellow citizens,” he said. And a third component is the technological one.
For his part, the Chief of Staff, Inspector General Nelson Villegas, highlighted the organization of the event to reward the important actions of the uniformed, in the last year. “The Night of Excellence is cause for celebration, we intend that its award constitutes not only a motivation mechanism for its work, but a bridge of encouragement for each of the more than 47,000 police officers,” he said.
He said that in each provincial capital there was an event of similar characteristics, with a spirit of justice that seeks to recognize the work of each of the officials of the order. “This practice of rewarding police is framed in the Transparency System and is led by the Chief of Staff, which seeks a constant purification and strengthen the humanistic values of service to citizens,” he said.
During the program, the uniformed institution presented the latest technological innovations that will be implemented in the coming days, which will provide a better service to citizens, through strategic decision making, in the territories of responsibility, in the country . These are: Delictual Predictor; My UPC; IT Platforms; Safe transportation; Mathematical Model of Supply and Demand.
The National Commission of Transparency, Police Integrity and Citizen Confidence and the Council of Generals of the National Police, honorably awarded the “Al Valor” award to 11 officers of the order and professional merit in the degree of “Grand Officer”, to 2 other servants, for their outstanding professional actions both in counteracting criminal actions and helping the community, guaranteeing citizen security.
The General Commander, accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff and the Inspector General, delivered these distinctions to the honorees. Likewise, the president of the Foundation for the Development and Welfare of the Police (Fundebip), María Teresa Solís de Mantilla and Magdalena Pérez de Villegas granted them a present as a distinction of their work accomplished.
During the evening, the ten national districts were awarded, which were grouped into five categories. In number 1 is: Manta and Portoviejo (Manabí Subzone); in la 2: Pastaza (Subzona Pastaza) and Cayambe (Pichincha); in la 3: Sucre (Manabí) and Valle del Amanecer (Imbabura); 4: Pallatanga (Chimborazo) and Pichincha (Manabí); and 5: Chinchipe (Zamora Chinchipe) and Catacocha (Loja), units that have jointly carried out relevant works for the benefit of the community.
Good Police Practices
Year after year the institution guardian of the order rewards the outstanding performances of the servants of order in every corner of the country. Thus, the three winning projects that correspond to:
First place: “No to carrying weapons in the urban sector”; its members received the award for professional merit in the degree of “Grand Officer”. The second place was for “Do not pollute or contaminate yourself at the crime scene (solemn public congratulations); and in third place: Police intervention procedure in citizen security and self-protection. PP “ISCA” (Public congratulation).
It should be noted that this contest began with a participation of 181 projects, which were evaluated by technicians from the Planning Department and by the members of the Transparency and Integrity Commission in their methodological and practical part, with visits to the territory, which allowed , through objective parameters, evaluate each of the ideas presented.
Better cops in each security axis
The Institution guardian of the order delivered the decoration to the professional merit in the degree of “Great official”, to 51 servants that integrate the communitarian axes, investigative (General Inspector, of the national directions of the Judicial Police, of Crimes against the life, Deaths Violent, Disappearances, Extortion and Kidnapping of People (Dinased) and Specialized Police for Children, Adolescents (Dinapen) and Antinarcotics), intelligence and preventives of the Metropolitan District of Quito, who stood out for their work, during 2017, in its areas of competence such as productivity in terms of community assemblies, community training, evidence collected, type of crime solved, help to reduce the incidence of crimes covered by the whole scorecard, give evidence of a proven behavior, among others.
The National Police, faithful to its constitutional mission, reiterates its commitment to continue working for the welfare of the community, recognizing the work carried out by each of the officers of the order, in favor of strengthening and guaranteeing social peace, throughout the country . / DNCE / M.
