Admiral Jhon Merlo, Commander of the Single Command, established in the border town of San Lorenzo that has more than 40 thousand inhabitants, said that “the security in the two cantons has been reinforced to give peace to the citizens with the support of National Police and Armed Forces, preventing any situation that threatens security, is potentialized in the sector. For his part, District General Mauricio Gutierrez, General Director of Operations of the National Police of Ecuador said “We carry out operations with the support of tactical units under an intelligence assessment and an analysis of the information focusing on the trafficking of chemical precursors, explosives and drugs, in order to prevent any type of attack against public or private institutions.
